"A WILD EDUCATIONAL DAY!"

The meeting of Toastmasters on 8 February was a Wild Educational day.
We started of with our Toastmaster David and a warm welcome. David also did brought a huge box with all kind of books (mostly educational) for us to take(apparently someone in the house decided on a de-clutter!). What a kind and knowledgeable offer!
Our first speaker was Carol and she  read aloud from Cheryl Strayed’s memoir, “Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail”. And what a beautiful story that is. The part read by Carol did reveal the detail and specific encounters Cheryl (the main character) had, and I will not start about any toe nails!!.
The evaluation from Linda for Carol presentation did reveal how she lived this short part of the story and with Linda her comments were spot on and well presented. Her recommendations were also clear well presented and with arguments and suggestions to improve.
The educational session from Craig was about the International Speech and Evaluation Contests in about two weeks time.  Craig told us about how the Contest evening works and also with very valuable tips for competitors. And even better, we received all the tips on a handy handout.
Table Topics were presented by Jen with her appropriate dry sense of humour and all the Table Topics participants did take advantage of this opportunity.
Table Topics evaluation was done by Mike and he did a very good job in the way he presented good and usable recommendations for each and every speaker. He did that in line with Jen’s sense of humour. Patrick wound up the meeting excellently with his General Evaluation assisted by the Timekeeper Graeme.
The "Best Off Awards" went to Carol (Speech), Mike (Evaluator) and our newest member Lou for Table Topics.
Again a well presented, informative and humorous Toastmasters meeting at our Pania club.
