"TALK ABOUT GIFTS GALORE!!"

Pania Toastmasters held their final meeting of the year today and as usual members were encouraged (and everyone did) bring a gift for the HB Today Christmas Appeal, which they had to speak about as their Table Topic.

Craig ran the meeting from the Toastmaster's chair and while the attendance was small (with a number of apologies) a interesting and fulfilling time was had by all.
Kerry, brought along a book for Children and told how she used to often change the words when telling the story and the children would say "no! Kerry, that's not what it says", kept them on their toes and helped understanding. She also brought along a gift on Marc's behalf!
Noel was also on the book theme with Dr Suess's "How  The Gringe Stole Xmas", he also shared a few passages from the book with us.
Darryl, continued on the book theme with a rather unusual "Trivia for the Toilet" plus another book. It is now becoming obvious where Darryl 'conveniently' gets some of his interesting facts for his speeches!!
Mike drew away from the book theme with a game called "Thawn Ball Clusters", a name which he liked repeating, repeating, repeating and repeating again! (Try it several times as a tongue twister)
Graeme, had a box of goodies wrapped by wife Margaret, we do not know what was in there but it sure looked heavy and worthwhile for some lucky recipients!
David, spent his money wisely and went to the OP-shop where he picked up a couple of Jigsaws, to keep the youngsters happy (if it rains!!). One was called a " Wasgij" (Ah! I see now Jigsaw  spelled backwards). That's how you did the Jigsaw, the picture showed a crowd watching something and that was what the jigsaw would end up as!!
Anna, had a 'Y' which could be used for many different things- we do not know why but someone will find out.
Laurel had three gender neutral gifts, including a smaller model of her desired mode of transport.
Linda, had everyone's dream for anytime (but she said it should only be eaten at Christmas-reverse Psychology!!) and that was Chocolate! Always a favorite of the majority of folks, and can be eaten anytime!!!
Craig concluded with two little cuddly, fluffy cats (with enormous big eyes) called Dazzle and Marmalade, by the ohs and ahs from the audience , I think they would have liked them as well.

Graeme concluded with a humorous Timekeeper's report and Kerry then very sadly told us that due to work commitments she would be unable to carry on at Pania Toastmasters and would be transferring to Napier Club. The night meeting being more suitable. We are all extremely sorry to see her go, when able to attend she is a real asset to the Club.
Some Christmas cheer was then shared with those in attendance.

That's all for 2017, we look forward to our next meeting on 25th January 2018, an Impromptu affair, so come along and enjoy the occasion.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!
