'TO USE (BODY LANGUAGE) OR NOT THAT IS THE QUESTION!"

Our meeting last Thursday , was as warm and friendly as the weather outside .

Toastmaster Noel , provided us with a very nice agenda and a warm welcome .

Kerry Howley paid a visit and as our new Area Director it was  a triple pleasure , an ex member, the presidents wife and Area Director !

Heather came along for the first time and we hope she will come again.

Laurel introduced our first speaker Darryl, who gave an educational presentation on using body language .

Darryl is particularly skilled in this area as one of his other pastimes is amateur acting .It was an excellent presentation , a pleasant throwback to one of Darryl's earlier speeches when he demonstrated climbing over sleeping passengers  on a long haul flight .This writer always thinks of that when travelling !

In Laurel's  clear and lovely voice she evaluated Darryl's speech , giving Darryl some tips for another time and commending him on what he had achieved .

Graeme introduced Mike who was to present a soliloquy. Not an easy task , but with his wonderful passion for all things written and read. Mike presented his                   ‘to be or not to be “        soliloquy . No one was disappointed , it was a powerful and passionate presentation , which earned Mike the best speech award .

In his evaluation of Mike's speech , Graeme offered due praise and had one recommendation for Mike .
Linda was table topics master , did she know what she was in for ? Likely not !

A beautifully sincere session about stress releases , with some excellent speakers  Carol, Graeme and Craig answering the calls , but this writer stopped writing when Kerry took the floor to talk about her stress release, you had to be there to hear it ………..the audience was enthralled, Marc's face was a picture and  we are not telling the rest , if you want to know more you will have to come along to the next meeting .

Marc was table topics evaluator , and he was given best evaluator ,for bravery !

In her first time as timekeeper Paula, gave us an excellent account of the times . Thank you for stepping in at last minute Paula.

If you want to join us for the next instalment you will be very welcome , same time , same place next week . Look forward to Trish's Icebreaker speech .

Jen as General Evaluator wrapped up the program well and had some excellent suggestions for improvement- the perfect speech, evaluation, meeting is yet to be achieved  but we will keep trying!!
