What an interesting meeting!
Started off with Carol our Toastmaster giving us an insight with regard to
current Lunar activity. Loved your agenda. This theme was apparent throughout
the whole meeting. Thanks Carol. Your efforts were very much appreciated.
"Todays world - Children rule" these were the titles from our two speakers. Read more.
Noel was doing speech nine from his Competent Communicator manual "Persuade with Power".
Lou (his evaluator, set the scene very nicely). Noel reminded us of the changes that have occured over recent times by highlighting "There's no such thing as a free lunch". This was a very well thought through presentation and a timely reminder not to accept everything that happens. Great speech Noel especially without notes.
Lou congratulated Noel saying he had achieved all the speech objectives She liked his eye contact, use of gesture and the emotion used. Thanks Lou.
Table Topics were presented by Paula who well utilised the meeting's Lunar theme.
Patrick was asked if and when the moon affects him? He quickly pointed out his wife was a deep thinker which gave him an opportunity to collect his thoughts. Mentioned full moon fairies / predictions and rounded off well.

Craig was asked to
tell us something we don't know about him? Spoke about strange behaviour which
immediately got our attention. So did driving around the town at all hours of
the night. Good ploy Craig.
Lou was asked to let
her hair down and dance. Great reaction. Very little movement
(understandable). Found her groove and did well.
Jen introduced Trish
who was doing her first ever speech. (We call it an icebreaker).
Trish did a fantastic
job! She produced a bag of goodies which not only allowed us to see photographs
of her two children but also reminded us of what family life is all about.
Thanking her husband was a very nice touch. Trish also informed us about her 'professional life' as a Business Consultant, a busy lady! Well done you.
Jens evaluation showed
she was also very impressed by what she saw and heard. That was reflected when
she said "I have the teeniest recommendation for you" Thanks very much.
Mike gave a very good
coverage with regard to evaluating Table Topics. All those taking part were
given helpful advice and would have learned from the experience. Thanks Mike
appreciate your views.
General Evaluator , Graeme wrapped up the meeting with some excellent commendations and suggestions for improvement (Ed)
Our Timekeeper Patrick
showed he had his role well in hand.
