What an amazing presentation we had from Jen our main speaker today! She was
giving a 5-7 minute impromptu talk and was required to give five speech titles
to her evaluator. Barbara (her evaluator) selected one of them and so began a
speech called "Victim or Aggressor".

Jen spoke of her teaching days in Harre, Zimbabe, young children, music, light bright and breezy. Excellent word pictures that captured one's imagination and suddenly contrasted that with an encounter that left her totally traumatised. Suffice to say that experience is still with Jen today. Could have heard a pin drop. Must have taken tremendous courage just to talk about it. Bravo!
Barbara's evaluation gave praise telling us that Jen had achieved all the speech objectives and also provided two suggestions which would be very helpful for the future. We are fortunate to have someone with Barbara's experience. Thank you.
Toastmaster Marc gave an impeccable display on not only how to run a meeting but also keep it to time. Well done you.
General Business - Nice to see those taking part in our recent Table Topics and Humorous Speeches receiving certificates so promptly - Thanks Craig.
Table topics today was a little different. First of all they were scheduled for 2minutes and second each one of them offered a distinct challenge. Thank you Darryl !
Thought the idea of writing words on the white board was good - not asking me was even better!
It was interesting to note the different ways people chose to answer an everyday word such as Cubit, Poronkusema, Milli - Helen, Butt, Morgen, Micromort.
Those taking part were Craig, Sandy, Helen, Russell, Noel, Marc.
Excellent Timekeeper's report from Helen who assisted the General Evaluator, Graeme with his overall meeting report.
A big thank you to Laurel our Table Topic evaluator.
Impressive that Laurel was able to provide praise and suggestions for all those taking part.
Thanks for your efforts Laurel.
A great meeting - lots to think about - why don't you come and see for yourself?
