Great to have visitors join into the meeting, Gail an accountant from
Crowe
Horwath and Elyse an experienced Toastmaster from Palmerston North.
Barbara, as meeting Toastmaster, had a very manageable agenda which
flowed
along nicely.
Linda Elliot gave another most
interesting speech. This time it was all
about the City of Lights, Paris. She
was introduced and evaluated in a most
professional manner by Mike Coombe.
The table topic session was run by Jen who choose 'September'
as her base
line for questions to be answered spontaneously by Ian, Carol,
Graeme, David
and Cheryl. For example, Cheryl was told by Jen that there is
to be a super
moon on September 28th and to explain what this is. Cheryl's
version was
simply that the moon fairy gets out his duster and spring cleans
so we have
a big shiny moon, very quick thinking. Ian evaluated the session
and
presented David with the Best Table Topic award.
Craig
gave a most encouraging educational about what to expect next week
with the
Table Topic Contest. Speak to the topic, green light 1 minute,
amber 1½
minutes and red at 2 minutes and be aware of what the judges will
be looking
for.
General business and evaluation gave Helen the opportunity to evaluate the
evaluators and
present certificates for the Humorous Speech contestants. The
raffle was
drawn and Helen won a wonderful kite of veges and fruit which was
donated by
the meeting Toastmaster, Barbara Hewitt.
Thanks Helen for your report.
