What
a great meeting at Pania Toastmasters on 27th June!
Two
speakers with intriguing speech titles of "Constantly moving" and "Hot topic"
What more could one ask for? - read more.
Julie
our Toastmaster started the meeting exactly on time at 12.05. Her impeccable
program left us in no doubt as to when everything was going to happen but also
who was responsible. Well done. She also gave one of the club officers an
unexpected gift! Lovely surprise which I'm sure Graeme appreciated.. Lou our
grammarian introduced her word for the day Euphoric and challenged everyone to
use it. Which they did. 15 times! Wow! Great word!
Our
first speaker Benita gave her first ever speech to the club which was called
"Constantly moving" What an apt title that was! Benita should feel very proud
of her presentation. Clarity of voice, great use of words that conveyed just
the right impression. Excellent eye contact and lots of humour.
Congratulations! Her evaluator quickly recognised Benita's strengths with words
like polished and engaging. Anna also gave Benita suggestions that would be of
help next time. Well done both of you!
Next
speaker was Sandy a very experienced Toastmaster. Her subject was called "Hot
topic" Sandy opened with a great touch of humour saying "Luckily I don't work
with humans" and quickly moved on to talk about fish and water temperatures.
Well done Sandy. What an interesting topic. The visuals complimented what was
said extremely well. Your knowledge is very impressive.
Paula
gave Sandy a very well rounded overview on what she saw and heard. Paula shows
great insight and knows exactly just what to say in terms of helping fellow
Toastmasters. We are very fortunate having people like her in the Pania
club.
Today
we had Jen as our Table Topic Master. What an interesting session this was.
Jen's choice of subject was quite unique and certainly gave those taking part
food for thought. I thought using the questions asked her was quite
delightful. I know I tried to look as if I had suddenly become
extremely
busy.
I
applaud Patrick, Craig and Israel for the way they responded to the challenge
given them.
I
would also congratulate Jen for trying something different.
Marc
was our Table Topics Evaluator and his experience came through very strongly. I
heard a thoroughly competent overview for all those taking part.
Congratulations! Very impressive.
The
time keepers report was presented by Jenni. Thorough as always. Well done
you.
Lou
gave her Grammarians report. Liked the extent Lou went to to make the session
memorable.
Not
only did she have the word of the day in two places but she also highlighted
other words that appealed to her. Excellent.
