"IN THE GARDEN with MY LITTLE ONE KIDNEY GIRL!"

Welcome to "My Little One Kidney Girl" in "The Garden".   These were the two speeches we were lucky enough to hear at our Pania meeting on 15th August.  Read more.

Our meeting started exactly on time at 12.05 thanks to our Toastmaster Sandy.  She gave a delightful introduction by telling us about her recent travels which helped set the tone on what was to follow.

Craig introduced Leigh our first speaker in a very sincere and encouraging manner.  He also outlined that this was Leigh's second speech at the Club being the first of the two Evaluation speeches required from our  Pathways program and explained what that entailed.
Leigh caught our attention instantly when she told us that "My Little One Kidney Girl" was all about her daughter and what happened.  Wow!  Needless to say everyone was very attentive and listened to every word.  Words like ultra sound, that her daughter was brave and very strong.  Surgery and minor panic attacks also featured in what was a very moving speech.  One could have heard a pin drop.
Craig's evaluation was very helpful as always.  He gave Leigh praise regarding choice of subject, her clear voice and use of cards.  He also suggested ways to help in the future.  Thank you.

Jen introduced Carol who was giving a Humorously Speaking assignment called "The Garden".  Jen said that Carol's assignment was all about exaggeration and entertaining the audience was of paramount importance and yes that is exactly what happened!
Not sure whether the television not starting was part of the plan but it did get a laugh.
Admire the way Carol was able introduce so many interesting facets during the course of her presentation.  There was the dynamic opening from a very energetic youngster, the interaction between two volunteers from the audience.  The use of positive and negative highlighting points made.  Well done Carol.
Jen 's evaluation mentioned the television malfunction, making a visual easier to see, man in New World moment & five people closest in your life.  Very good observations.  Helpful.  Thank you.

General business dealt with quickly and succinctly.  Thanks Craig and Patrick.
Table Topics today were presented by Michael.  Excellent topics, well explained, made us think.
Pedro responded with enthusiasm toward the colour green.  This was his first ever time which was quite amazing.
Israel  was asked to talk about the moon.  He sounded very knowledgeable up until he said "So glad to see the lights" which indicated his time was up.
The third speaker was Mehran.  His subject was Air New Zealand.  He very cleverly spoke about our national air line and the air that we breathe each and every day.
Paula was our Table Topics evaluator.
She not only praised all those taking part but also gave some very worthwhile comments which would be of great help when people do table topics the next time.  Thanks Paula.  Great to have that feedback.

General Evaluator  Graeme apologised for not taking on that responsibility and reporting back to the meeting due to time constraints but it is all included above!. Benita kept us to time generally as Timekeeper.
