'AND A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU TO!"

Well, we have reached the end of another Calendar year and Pania Toastmasters is still going strong! 13 members attended our final meeting on 12th December and all  brought gifts along for the HB Today Christmas Gift Appeal. Over the past few years we have always finished the year with a similar meeting where those that attend bring along a gift (supposedly under $5-but!!) and that  is the subject for their Table Topic, which ended up being very varied and interesting this year.
Many members brought along more that one gift (some up to 10/12 small items) that will make a child (or in one or two cases a parent) enjoy Christmas day just a little better in 2013.

We welcomed back past members Jan & Viv to the meeting and following Table Topics the Toastmaster of the day (and Table Topics Master-and caterer) President Craig, invited us to partake of some nibbles and refreshments. All seemed to enjoy the 'different' meeting (no alcohol-off course as we meet in the Church Lounge!) and most stayed to partake of the Christmas cheer provided.

Two  very special presentations were made, however, during the brief business session, Graeme presented Darryl with his Competent Communicator Award-congratulations Darryl you really have enhanced your communication skills and become an even more competent communicator than you were when you joined us. While Craig presented Cheryl with her "Spirit of Success" certificate for completing the first five speeches in the CC Manual, again a real success story for Cheryl and we look forward to her CC next year.

Many thanks to all those who attended and to Graeme and Ian for their tireless work in setting up and dismantling the room each week, also for their task of  delivering the gifts to the HB Today office in Napier where I am sure they were welcomed with open arms.

First meeting of 2014 is to be 23rd January at the usual venue, meanwhile enjoy your break from Toastmasters, have a tremendously joyful Christmas (only over indulge a little bit!) and we wish you good health and prosperity for 2014.

See you next year.
