"WIN-WIN WITH GAUDI!"

The Win-Win Gaudí Negotiations

We look back at yet again a wonderful and enjoyable Pania Toastmasters meeting on Thursday 12th October. Darryl welcomed us all right on time and with his fabulous sense of humour, in a well prepared setting. The expectations of the audience were raised because of two longer speeches and we were not disappointed!.

Our first speaker was Mike, introduced by Kerry.
Kerry gave us an introduction of Mike’s speech about the two beautiful structures he visited in Spain build by Antoni Gaudí.
Mike showed us his astonishing photo presentation of meticulously captured building details together with his vivid impressive comments and explanations.
A well prepared and attractive presentation after which almost everyone was keen on taking the next available flight to Barcelona.current civil unrest hopefully over!)
Kerry's evaluation of Mike’s speech was very well structured, gave comments about the organisation, delivery and goals of the speech and made some recommendations with a high and well balanced dose of humour.

The second speaker of the day was Carol with a educational session about negotiation.
Laurel introduced Carol in her usual very professional and stimulating way. She also mentioned the objectives and personal goals of Carol.
The session of Carol's was in three parts.
In the first part Carol made a short introduction and explained very clearly what kind of negotiation techniques there are, the negotiation process and what the goal should be  at the end of every negotiation: a win-win where every party is a step closer to their objectives.
The second part was a live demonstration how to apply this new gained knowledge. This was very well demonstrated with the fantastic help of Anna.
In the last piece was an interactive session in which Carol asked the audience for their opinion and comments about the way they thought the theory was applied in the demonstration. This was a well led session where the commendations and recommendations from the audience were answered by Carol in a open, professional and educational way.
In the evaluation of Carol’s session Laurel explained her own extended knowledge in this specific topic, after which she complemented Carol on the contents of this educational session, along other commendations and a recommendation.
A very well presented, relevant and applicable education session by Carol.

The General Evaluator, Patrick, gave some well rounded comments on the Evaluators of the day and was assisted by the Timekeeper Linda, who despite the elongated speeches kept us to time

After the speeches and evaluations Darryl closed this week's meeting, again, in a very humorous way and invited us all back for next week's Pania meeting with the Toastmaster Linda.

Best Speech; Carol
Best Evaluator; Linda
