Creating a General Evaluation
Hello Pania People
Twelve attendees at the meeting on 14th March, and with the introduction of Pip Green, we have reached the magical 20 members. This means, of course, that all achievements
for the Distinguished Club Programme can be recognised. And it means that Club Members are achieving their goals.
Pip also began her T/M ‘life’ as Best Table Topics Speaker. Well done, Pip.
Toastmaster Jan led the meeting, and began by inviting Noel to introduce our first speaker, Jane. Working from the advanced manual, Specialty Speeches, Jane gave us a bard reading, with specific objectives, with a difference, the Creation Story from the Bible. Noel’s evaluation was all it should have been with two very pertinent recommendations as well as commendations.
Sue M. was the Table Topic Master, and challenged participants with questions about being positive and recognising small things which can lift ‘down’ days. Pip (aforementioned) told us smiles from three people she had experienced yesterday, which she remembered with pleasure.
Viv remembered something beautiful from the weekend – a large and glorious courgette. (Did it qualify to be a marrow?) Russell recalled a meal from the recent past, an Art Deco afternoon tea, with plates laden with beautiful goodies. Ian was asked to recall something beautiful from the past and took some time to remember the day he retired, to do almost nothing. He still enjoys that!
Laurence’s evaluation was clear with both commendations and recommendations for each speaker, not easy to accomplish in our short meeting time.
Graeme led us through the requirements of a General Evaluator, with clear notes on a flip chart + a hand-out. Very clear instructions for everyone. It led nicely into the General Evaluation, completed for the first time by Brenda. With Graeme’s advice fresh in her mind, Brenda did all she was supposed to do, again with commendations and recommendations for the Evaluators, Toastmaster, and Time keeper, Darryl Baxter. His task was achieved clearly and competently.
Well done everyone. The Toastmaster tries to ensure that all members attending have a chance to speak and this was achieved today.
Remember subs are due for payment next week, to qualify for the discount.
See you next week.
